Biography

You were transfigured on the mountain, O Christ God, revealing Your glory to Your disciples as far as they could bear it. Let Your everlasting Light also shine upon us sinners, through the prayers of the Theotokos. O Giver of Light, glory to You!

On the Mountain You were Transfigured, O Christ God, and Your disciples beheld Your glory as far as they could see it; so that when they would behold You crucified, they would understand that Your suffering was voluntary, and would proclaim to the world, that You are truly the Radiance of the Father!

Ministry Groups
Several fellowship and service organizations exist within our community, providing members with additional opportunities to give of their time and talents in furthering the work of God's Church.

Parish Council
Our parish council consists of fourteen members who are elected by the parish body and meet monthly with the guidance of the priest to conduct the business of the parish. Meetings are held regularly every second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the church hall. Contact: Andrew Evans (480-948-7929)

Choir
Our choir sings regularly at all liturgical services and is always ready to accept new members who can add to the beauty of our praying and singing together. Proficiency exists in being able to sing (or learn) in English and / or Slavonic (Russian) as the circumstances warrant.

Altar Servers
Our Altar Servers assist the Bishop/priest at the liturgical services.

Myrrh Bearers Altar Society
This organization of women of the Church was formed on February 12, 1961. It has historically provided an active channel through which women of all ages meet regularly and share ideas and efforts in service to and beautification of the Church. They have been responsible for purchasing and also sewing some of the following articles: vestments, linens for the Altar, curtains for the Royal Doors, Altar Server’s robes, etc. Great support is lent in fund raising projects and other activities within the Church. Contact: Barbara Peterson (602-278-1994)

Youth Group
The Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America (FOCA), (Phoenician "O" Club) provides the foundation for the youth activities in our Church. Sunday School is sponsored and supported with teachers from the organization. Youth Group meetings and social activities are supervised by volunteer adult advisors. Involving the youth in Church and social activities is critical to making them feel useful and wanted. Contact: Stephanie Homyak, FOCA (623-869-0470)

FOCA
Fellowship of  Orthodox Christians in America, An official organization of the Orthodox Church in America, and whose mission is to proclaim, share and reveal the Orthodox Christian Faith through service, fellowship and example. Contact: Stephanie Homyak, FOCA (623-869-0470)
